Bypass options for macos roaming client
Greg
I have seen previous post or two about this but I believe organizations using macos roaming clients as a majority of their user workforce need more options to bypass dnsfilter in the case of being in a hotel or airline wifi as we wait for DNSFilter to fix the captive portal problems. Why is the bypass feature only available for mobile devices? Can we expand the bypass feature so either the diagnostic tool can be used to send admins a request for bypass or if a user requests to be bypassed in another fashion, an admin can go to the client in the portal and select status bypass?
Thanks.

This 1000x. Our MacOS users who fly want to strangle us. They can never use airplane WiFi.

Scott Dyer: Have you tried the latest update 1.8.2 - it includes native support for Captive Portals and should help with those issues.
Scott Dyer
Nick Saunders YES! We are testing now, but just nice to have a backup plan if ever needed. Thanks.

Scott Dyer Great! And I absolutely agree there's still other scenarios where the bypass would be a big help, such as circumventing a policy temporarily.

Nick Saunders I installed this version, production and beta, but the access capitve network button doesn't seem to exist in the tray icon like that link shows? Does the option only exist if we are connected to a captive network?
Nick Saunders
Greg Yes, though the option is dynamic and will only display in the menu when it detects you're on a Captive Portal network and need to first complete the login/acceptance step before getting connected. The shortcut is there to trigger the portal to display if it doesn't pop-up for you automatically. Hope that makes sense.

Nick Saunders Interesting! I will test! thanks!

Nick Saunders My testing appears to have worked, at least on a coffee shops wifi network for now! Thanks for this! Hoping this works just as smoothly on some of those airlines as well Scott Dyer

Thank you Vincent. After discussing, looks like you were given a test build that had different wording, apologize for that. End users are not able to stop the DNSFilter service today. This request is to add an option to allow the controlled bypass of DNSFilter by an admin for troubleshooting.
