Domains, Sub-domains, and variations of domains that redirect to the same domain categorized differently
Greg Gelman
With the influx of false positives identified in the parked domain category, we noticed that a domain is categorized differently by subdomain and even sometimes if the domain has variations of the url that redirect back to the same fqdn. For example:
- https://reservenski.parkpalisadestahoe-alpine.com/
- https://reservenski.parkpalisadestahoevillage.com/
- https://reservenski.parkpalisadestahoealpine.com/
https://reservenski.parkpalisadestahoevillage.com/ seems to be categorized as 'Business'
https://reservenski.parkpalisadestahoealpine.com/ also categorized as 'Business' but https://reservenski.parkpalisadestahoe-alpine.com/ was categorized as 'Sports',
To the naked eye,
Look like different websites, but in reality they are the same websites that are redirected from https://reservenski.parkpalisadestahoe-alpine.com/ to https://reservenski.parkpalisadestahoealpine.com/
If we block a single website like this how do we avoid issues with its subdomains or variations of domain uri/url coming back blocked again. I ask if this can be looked at as a feature request, kindly, if a fix does not yet exist.
Thanks.

Query Log: See blocked subdomains if the root domain is not blocked
Joseph Bacino
If a site is blocked, and it is not the root domain…the actual site that is block be listed.
It would also be helpful if a block showed some type of hierarchy of the block on the block page.
For this it would look like
www.rothmanortho.com – [Status: Allowed and reason]
dvc5gy0mzxblt.cloudfront.net - [Status: Blocked and then reason]
This would also help in the logs to have a hierarchy view allowing us to see what was blocked in the domain load. Allowed would be helpful also.
