Private Network Protection for Windows
now
Minetta Gould
A consultant leaves the office and connects from a hotel. Their laptop is protected by DNSFilter—but on an untrusted network, traffic can still be observed or intercepted before reaching a secure connection.
Private Network
closes that gap, bringing automatic traffic encryption directly into the Windows Roaming Client so your users are always protected, regardless of where they connect—and without a separate tool to deploy or manage.Admins get full visibility and control, managing Private Network coverage right alongside their existing DNSFilter deployment.
What This Means for You
- Automatic traffic encryption on public and untrusted networks, protecting roaming users where DNS alone can't
- Admin-managed rollout with visibility into device status and connection health
- Zero disruption for end users—protection that works quietly in the background
- Complements your existing security stack without conflicts

With the acquisition of Guardian, DNSFilter now has another great product that can be used by businesses for protection. As an administrator, I want to provide a private and secure connection to the internet for my users and clients while on an untrusted network.

Please forgive my ignorance on this matter. I'm just curious about "your IP address and other device identifiers will be masked". If hackers used this app while performing hacks, would the Masked Identity feature make it harder to catch them?

How does Guardian differ from the VPN already provided within the DNS filter for mobile Roaming Clients?
Teresa Newsome
Has Guardian been incorporated at all into the current DNS filter for Roaming Clients? Or, is this an additional service that will be sold separately? If so, will it be available to MSP's to sell to their customers? If sold separately, I would be very interested in this product if it becomes available for Windows and Android. Otherwise, if it will be added to the functionality of the DNS filter, that would be great to know too as it would make for a great selling point.

Teresa Newsome: Guardian is separate right now and sold separately. We're currently working on the Windows client for Guardian. While DNSFilter protects the Internet traffic via the DNS-layer, Guardian ensures a safe and private connection on untrusted networks. I'll reach out and see if we can schedule some time to discuss more. Thanks for your interest.

Is this still only for mobile devices or are there plans to have a MacOS and Windows client?

Alan Foley: For Pro users, there is a beta version of the macOS client here - https://guardianapp.com/pro/. Scroll toward the bottom for the download link. We are working on a Windows client, but I don't have an ETA to share just yet on that. Would love to follow-up on your interest as well.

I did a quick search, but couldn't find anything on this. Is there a link on this/when it will be available? Thanks!
